Sambro Lighthouse

Built on granite, Sambro Lighthouse is approximately 2 nautical miles outside the second largest ice-free harbour in the world. Halifax's Harbour.  Built in 1758 and lit in 1760, for more than 238 years the lighthouse has warned of dangerous shoals and been a beacon to many. Sailors returning home, fishermen, immigrants to a new land; all have relied on it.
